Why I bought it
The I bought the lens I was very new to Photography. Because of that I didn’t want to spend too much money while trying out the hobby. In addition, I had heard may good things about the lens, especially in the value for money category.
The lens is very versatile. It can be used for street photography, portraits, product photography. In short, it’s great all round lens. This made it perfect for my first lens, excluding the kit lens.
Experience so far
The lens was the perfect purchase for me. It enabled me to shoot better photos in low light condition. As well as getting images, especially portraits, with beautiful field of depth and bokeh.
It is so much fun doing a photo walk through the streets. You don’t have to get in people’s faces to take a street portrait, while still not being away too far. The lens is not too big and does not get much attention on a small camera then walking through the city.
Now that it’s getting cold, I don’t go out as much, but I can use it at home for testing out and learning about product photography. This is working well to.
All in all, I am very happy with my purchase and the images I am getting from the lens. Considering the price, I think it’s one of the best lenses to start with.
